Finally activating a new category on apolaroidstory.com! Happy to introduce the TRAVEL category where I will share some of my Polaroids that I managed to snap at different places all over the world whether I find myself in the middle of the African desert or your local block around the corner. If the environment moves me, I’ll probably capture it on Polaroid.

First up in the category:  Polaroids taken at the archeological Petra site in Jordan, also know as Rose City.

Inhabited since prehistoric times, this Nabataean caravan-city, situated between the Red Sea and the Dead Sea, was an important crossroads between Arabia, Egypt and Syria-Phoenicia. Petra is half-built, half-carved into the rock, and is surrounded by mountains riddled with passages and gorges. It is one of the world’s most famous archaeological sites, were ancient Eastern traditions blend with Hellenistic architecture.  It is one of the world’s richest and largest archaeological sites set in a dominating red sandstone landscape. 
It’s also the location where they shot Transformers II. Petra has been a World UNESCO Heritage Site since 1985.  A very rare and magical place to find yourself in and even more rare to have documented on Polaroid.
